Registered nurses are in high demand nationally and nationally. Starting salaries typically range from $26 to $33 per hour. Progression through the nursing program may follow a typical five-semester plan, or the plan may be modified to allow part-time study within the boundaries of the nursing degree program. Technical care involves the provision of direct care to individuals and is characterized by the application of verified knowledge in the skillful performance of care functions. All students must possess sufficiently: Applicants to the LPN-RN bridging program must have an active, unencumbered LPN/LVN license with a state nursing board. The license can be with Kentucky Board of Nursing or another state. Applicants (with the exception of LPN-RN Bridge) must have active status in a state register of nursing assistants. Active status can be included in the Kentucky registry or another state registry. You will be asked to provide the status and certification/registration number on your foster care application.

The Nursing Associate Program prepares students for the Registered Nurse Entrance Examination. Graduates of the nursing program are eligible to write the National Council for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) licensing examination. The program also offers the opportunity to plan for professional mobility through courses articulated with selected Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs in the state of Maryland. Students with questions about clinical requirements and placement can contact their program`s program director. To be accepted into a clinical training experience, students must comply with CCS clinical site guidelines and requirements, including health and wellness guidelines. Most clinical sites require background checks, health tests, drug screenings and vaccinations, including proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Students must demonstrate to the HCC that students meet all clinical requirements except their COVID-19 vaccination status. In accordance with state law, HCC does not require COVID-19 vaccination.

To receive the nursing application, you must attend a pre-admission conference in the semester preceding the admission cycle for which you wish to apply. We will organize at least 2 conferences for face-to-face participation. Online conferencing may be offered, but is not guaranteed. The Registered Nursing program provides educational opportunities for qualified students who use a program designed to prepare qualified graduates to act as entry-level registered nurses. Professional care is a dynamic and interactive process that looks at the client, family and community holistically. The program includes a balance between general education, current nursing theory, and clinical and laboratory experience. HCC offers two program options where students can choose between a three-year program or a more intensive two-year program. Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to write the National Council for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) licensing examination. In order to provide students with the strongest possible clinical training experience and to ensure that students progress and graduate as planned, it is strongly recommended that applicants weigh all their options before accepting conditional admission to the desired health sciences program. To facilitate this decision-making, students must understand all the requirements of their program, including clinical training. Admission to the HCC DNA nursing program is through selective admissions. Candidates wishing to apply must meet the Henderson Community College Minimum Standards. Applicants who apply are ranked based on the nursing admission score. Meeting the minimum standards allows a student to be accepted into the pool of qualified candidates, but does not guarantee admission to the program. Enrollment in all clinical courses (courses beginning with NURS) requires selective admission based on program-specific admission requirements.
